Billing Specialist (979) – Perform data entry of laboratory requisitions using Rhodes Scrubber and other corporate computer software to prepare claim for filing with insurance companies.    Meet all Quality Assurance (QA) and production goals.  Accurately verify patient insurance eligibility. Perform other general billing tasks.  MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  High school diploma or equivalent.  PREFERENCES:  Typing of 35 WPM or 6000 keystrokes per hour. Data entry/general office experience.  Experience in medical lab, or related healthcare environment.  Experience dealing with the public. Knowledge of medical terminology.  Knowledge of medical insurance.

Billing Research (1061, 1135) – Performs billing research functions to ensure the requisition is ready to bill. Determines appropriate billing codes needed, billing information for data entry of requisitions, and other billing tasks.  High degree of initiative and self-motivation needed to be able to troubleshoot billing problems without assistance on a frequent basis.  Monitors, summarizes, and reports deficiencies in requisition information received from TRL offsite locations and ordering physicians/clients. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  High school diploma or equivalent.  One (1) year laboratory or medical billing experience.  Requires knowledge and understanding of medical terminology, third party billing requirements, ICD-9 and CPT coding experience. Must complete TriCore’s ICD-9 coding training with in one year in position.  PREFERENCES: Medical Billing Certification, Typing of 45 WPM, Experience in data entry, medical terminology, and health insurance coding and dealing with the public.
